Do I Need Cataract Surgery at 62?

Cataracts, which are cloudy areas in the lens of the eye, can lead to blurred vision, glare, and difficulty seeing at night. They commonly develop with age, and factors like smoking, diabetes, and prolonged sun exposure may also contribute. Thankfully, surgery is a common and successful solution. The procedure involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with a clear artificial one, significantly improving vision. If you're experiencing these symptoms, I encourage you to consult an eye specialist for a thorough evaluation. They can provide personalized recommendations to enhance your visual health and overall quality of life.

Why isn't my acute chest congestion improving?

It sounds like you’re experiencing significant discomfort due to chest tightness and coughing, which can often result from an upper respiratory infection. The combination of fever, cough, and nasal congestion suggests an ongoing infection. I am 29 years old female suffering from ringworm/ bacterial scalp infection. I have consulted family doctor. He suggested flucolab -150 and some other medicine too. I am worried about hair fall and bald patches on skin. Please recommend shampoo to reduce redness and infection

Bacterial infection and ringworm are two different things. Ringworm is fungal infection that presents rings generally over the areas where there is more sweating like thigh area, under the breast or armpit area and that is to be treated by anti-fungal medication for long time like 1-2 months. Bacterial infection is the one which is present with the puss and boils and has to be treated with antibiotics. Fungal infection on the scalp is very uncommon in adults and its only a problem of pre-school children. Proper diagnosis is required for the treatment to work. Consult a dermatologist for the same.

Am I Pregnant If My Period Is Delayed?

It's understandable to be concerned about your cycle, especially after stopping medication for PCOS. While irregular periods are common with this condition, the absence of menstruation post-intercourse could suggest pregnancy, especially if the timing was close to ovulation. Symptoms like changes in cervical mucus, missed periods, or sensitivity can indicate pregnancy. I recommend taking a home pregnancy test for clarity. Regardless of the outcome, it's best to consult your gynecologist for personalized advice and to discuss your menstrual irregularities. They can provide support and determine the next steps for your health journey.

Why haven't my treatment resolved gastritis and reflux?

I understand your symptoms can be quite distressing, including persistent bloating, nausea, and discomfort. Your recent endoscopy findings suggest inflammation in the stomach and issues with esophageal function. It's important to follow up with your gastroenterologist if the prescribed medications aren't providing relief. They may consider adjusting your treatment plan or exploring additional tests to better understand your condition. In the meantime, try to eat smaller, more frequent meals and avoid trigger foods.
