Persistent On-and-Off Fever, Fatigue, and Early Fullness: What Could Be the Cause?

Patient's Query

I am 23 years old . Height 5"7 weight 56.6kg ...... From past few months i have persistent on and off fever.. Fever occurs often at rest and as soon as i start activity it goes and then come back again after exertion. Also so much weakness in my body and feeling full after small meal from past few days.

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

Your symptoms—on and off fever, weakness, and feeling full quickly—could point to an underlying infection or nutritional issue. It’s important to get tests like CBC, thyroid profile, and maybe a chest X-ray to rule out causes like TB or inflammation. Please consult a physician soon for proper evaluation and treatment.

The doctor prescribed me a medicine (megapin) of 500mg but the megapin I got has a label 250/250 mg does that mean the medicine is total 500mg?

Male | 60

When medicine labels show 250/250 mg, it means there are two ingredients, each with 250 mg. One tablet contains 500 mg (250 + 250 = 500 mg). You're getting the correct dose your doctor prescribed. Follow the instructions for how many tablets to take.

This could be a hormonal problem or a lack of certain vitamins and minerals in your body. I would advise you to see a diabetes specialist or a dietician to discuss this topic. Male | 50

For the past three days, you've had a fever, which suggests your body is fighting an infection. If the fever returns after taking medication, it's important to find out the underlying cause. A blood test can help identify the issue. Although you might not feel like engaging in sports or socializing, staying active can benefit your recovery. You did well in your last session, and your doctor has cleared you to continue treatment under their supervision.
