What to do for left side spermatic cord funiculitis?

Patient's Query

Mom, I have funiculitis in the left side spermatic cord, what should I do and what should I not do, please tell me

Answered by Dr. Neeta Verma

Funiculitis is basically inflammation in the spermatic cord, often caused by infections or trauma. It's essential to see an urologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. In the meantime, you should avoid strenuous activities that could worsen the inflammation. Applying ice packs can help with swelling and discomfort. Make sure to wear supportive underwear to ease any strain on the affected area.

A sudden change in or around the testicles is a warning signal that should not be ignored. The lump could have several causes, for example, a cyst, an injury, or an infection. However, don't panic! It is important to see a urologist as soon as possible to undergo a medical examination. They will assist you in determining the cause and will advise the appropriate treatment, which may involve medication or additional tests.
