I have had blood and mucus in my stools for over a month now. Sometimes more blood is present than others. Most of the times the blood is mixed in with the stool other times it's mixed in and there are mucus blood clots floating in the water. Is this something I should be immediately concerned with.
It may be due to various reasons, including less serious conditions like hemorrhoids or infections, it could also be a sign of more serious issues such as inflammatory bowel disease or gastrointestinal bleeding. Consult a gastroenterologist preferably from a good hospital for a thorough evaluation, diagnosis, and appropriate treatment.
