Questions & Answers on "Gestational Diabetes Management" (387)

Tsh level 5.910 is normal?

Female | 29

A TSH level of 5.910 is slightly above the normal range, but  it's quite common. This could indicate hypothyroidism, where your thyroid gland isn't producing enough hormones. It could also be affected by factors like stress or medication. To get a clearer picture, your endocrinologist may recommend further tests like T4 and T3 levels. In the meantime, focus on a healthy lifestyle with balanced nutrition and regular exercise. Make sure to follow up with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

My weight is constantly increasing and my period days get decrease it only last for 2 days and easily gets tired and sometimes weakness in body and body pain most of the time

Female | 21

The symptoms mentioned by you like weight gain, shorter periods, tiredness, weakness, and body pain could be attributed to hormonal imbalances or thyroid problems. These issues can have an effect on your energy levels and menstrual cycle. Go to a doctor, get some tests done to find out what's causing the problem, and get the necessary treatment.

Hi, I am Male 32 years old, I suffer from Hashimoto, and recently did some other blood tests. My total bilirubine level was 2, (direct was 0.2 and indirect 1.8) I have normal ALT, AST, LDH and GGT, also a normal ultrasound( no problems where found on ultrasound). My Cholesterol was also very high (300) and LDL 230. Should I worry about the liver? SHould I start statin for my cholesterol and could my high colesterol be related to hashimotos?. My height is 180 CM and wight for the moment 75 KG. I have been overweight for many years. Max weight wa 90 kg

Male | 32

Your bilirubin is a bit high but your liver enzymes as well as the ultrasound tests are normal which is good news. High cholesterol can go with Hashimoto's - your thyroid problem. Looking at your LDL levels, it might be good to start taking a statin so that you can reduce this kind of cholesterol in your body. It will also help if you work on your weight and try living healthy.

I have been on thyroid medication for nearly 8 years. Medicine name thyroxine sodium tablets 25 mcg. 1 tablet daily. In recent report tsh is 6.911 Does the power need to be increased to 50 mcg? Suggest right dose

Female | 47

It's important to note that a TSH level of 6.911 may indicate that your current thyroxine dosage is insufficient. Symptoms of hypothyroidism can include fatigue, weight gain, and sensitivity to colds, among others. A slight increase to 50 mcg may help return your TSH levels to normal. However, any adjustments to medication should always be discussed with your healthcare provider, as they can assess your overall health and tailor the treatment to your needs.
