Can fetal stem cells be harvested without destroying the embroy?
Yes so the process of extracting fetal stem cells from the embryo can destruct the embryo. This is because the cells are usually obtained from the inner cell mass of the embryo, which is a stage of development where the embryo is destroyed in the process. Alternative sources of stem cells, such as adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), have been developed to overcome some of the ethical concerns associated with using fetal stem cells.

Gene Therapy Vs Stem Cell Therapy, what is the difference?
| Gene Therapy | Stem Cell Therapy |
| Gene therapy is a procedure that helps replace defective genes. It is an artificial technique that introduces normal functioning genes in the place of defective genes. | Stem cell treatment is a kind of regenerative medicine that helps treat various diseases. The induced stem cells heal the damaged cells or accelerate the repair response in the damaged tissue. |
| Types of Gene Therapy: Somatic Gene Therapy and Germline Gene Therapy |
Types of Stem Cells: Adult stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells, embryonic stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells. |
| It involves introduction or modification of genes to prevent or treat a disease. | It involves introduction of cells to replace or repair the damaged cells. |
| This usually involves a virus vector to deliver the new gene. | Some stem cells like mesenchymal stem cells can themselves act as a vector. |

I have end-stage osteoarthritis of both ankles, making it painful to walk. I am interested in getting stem cell therapy. If it has proven successful in osteoarthritis of the ankles success to be would been reduced pain and increased mobility. Two years ago I hiked often and I miss my active lifestyle
Stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis is a promising treatment option, but it's important to understand that it is still considered an experimental treatment and its long-term effects are not fully known. It may help reduce pain and improve your quality of life. So consult the best hospitals and doctors for a good stem cell treatment.

Is there any stem cell hearing loss trial that I can participate in in the UK? I have increasing inner ear hearing loss and can no longer hear music with human voices also becoming more difficult to hear/understand. I have waited unsuccessfully for the past 25 years for such a trial. I seems that I will die now without ever again hearing music which was always for me one of life's greatest joys.
If you are specifically interested in stem cell therapy for hearing loss, you can ask your ENT specialist if they have experience with or can refer you to a specialist who is conducting clinical trials or treating patients with stem cell therapy for hearing loss.
