Why do I get pelvic pain with enlarged prostate?

Patient's Query

I get severe pain in pelvis and pubic area in the evening if I go to work, I don't get pain if I stay at home. I am diagnosed enlarged prostrate measuring 36 cc, indentation of 1cm into bladder and bilateral inguinal hernia measuring 1.8 cm right and 1 cm left. Does jerks during travelling, or sitting for long time or some timed sexual arousal cause the pain. I am prescribed Tamudra for two months. Pls advice.

Answered by Dr. Neeta Verma

The pain you're experiencing in your pelvis and pubic area in the evenings could be related to your enlarged prostate, bladder indentation, and inguinal hernias. These conditions can indeed cause discomfort, especially when you're sitting for extended periods or during activities like traveling or sexual arousal. It's good that you're on Tamudra; it should help manage your symptoms. To ease the pain, try taking breaks during long periods of sitting, use a cushion for support, and avoid activities that trigger discomfort. If the pain persists or worsens, don't hesitate to reach out to urologist for further evaluation.

You might have encountered testicular torsion, a condition of the testicle that twists and cuts off blood supply. This is an acute medical case and you should immediately see a urologist.

I have undescended testicle at age 27 . Semen analysis is nil sperm count . Please suggest treatment

Male | 27

You likely have an undescended testicle. This means it didn't descend into the scrotum before birth. An undescended testicle often leads to zero sperm count. You may have no semen, indicating the condition. Fixing this might require surgery. Moving the testicle properly sometimes helps boost sperm production. However, not every case responds favorably to this procedure.

I got pregnant naturally... everything was smooth till 20th week. After 20th feel i got aborted with the complaint of cervical incompetence....while tiffa scan at 20week my cervical length was 31mm..why this happened plz suggest precautions for next conception

Female | 26

Cervical incompetence, or insufficiency, happens when the cervix starts to open too soon during pregnancy. In your case, with a cervical length of 31mm at 20 weeks, it might have put you at a higher risk. Now, for next time, we can consider a few precautions. We may monitor your cervical length more closely in early pregnancy and discuss the option of a cervical cerclage, a procedure where the cervix is stitched closed to provide support. It's also important to avoid heavy lifting and take it easy. When you plan your next conception, we can create a personalized care plan to help support a healthy pregnancy.
