Why is my period late after protected sex?

Patient's Query

My period cycle every month regular and I got my periods 4 days before in every month i had sex on 25 october after protected sex my period comes in time 1 November but now 2 december my period still not come it's late What hapnd please tell me

Answered by Dr. Swapna Chekuri

Sometimes, changes in your period can happen for various reasons. Stress, changes in weight, hormonal fluctuations, or even lifestyle factors can all play a role. It's also important to consider the possibility of pregnancy, even with protected sex. I recommend taking a home pregnancy test just to rule that out. If it's negative, sometimes cycles can be irregular for a variety of reasons, but it's always good to keep an eye on it. If your period doesn't show up soon, it might be a good idea to check in with a gynecologist just to make sure everything is okay.

I have my cousion wedding on 9th of September..So I need too prepone my period date…Can you please suggest me the tablet for early tablets

Female | 21

Always consult a doctor before using tablets to change your period. The menstrual cycle is a natural biological process, and altering it with pills can harm your health. While it’s understandable to want to adjust your period for events like a cousin’s wedding, it’s important to let your body follow its natural cycle whenever possible.

Can I be pregnant from grinding on a penis w nothing on and no condom but he was never inside of me and he never came?

Female | 18

A pregnancy may take place if the semen comes into any contact with the vaginal area, whether there is a penetration or ejaculation. It is imperative to have barrier protection while engaging in any type of sexual activity because this way you and your partner will be prevented from having unwanted pregnancies and from contracting sexually transmitted infections.

I began taking the contraceptive pill Hana on 8th June before my period has started and wanted to know how long before I am protected

Female | 31

When you start taking the contraceptive pill, there’s something you should know: it won’t protect you right away. It takes about seven days to start working. While you’re waiting for it to kick in, make sure to use an extra form of protection such as condoms so that pregnancy doesn’t occur. Some people may get mild side effects like headaches or feeling sick when they first try this type of birth control but these usually go away with time if taken properly.

I have taken emergency pill yesterday and today i noticed white creamy discharge do i have to worry about this?

Female | 17

It is a common side effect of the emergency pill and its likely a normal vaginal discharge that occurs due to hormonal fluctuations. It's mostly similar to the discharge experienced during the normal menstrual cycle.

I missed my period recently bt I didn’t had any sexual activities. Am I gonna be okay? When Can I possibly get my period again? Is there anything that I can do to get it Again?

Female | 18

It is quite normal to have a slip in the monthly cycle even if you didn’t get involved in any sexual activity. Stress, drastic weight changes, or changes in your daily schedule can affect your period. If the missed period is the only symptom you are experiencing, everything is probably okay. Your periods should return in a few weeks without any intervention. You need to take it easy and eat a balanced diet; also do some physical exercises and ensure to get enough sleep.
