Questions & Answers on "Ent Surgery" (324)
Hello, I'm 20 years old and my voice stopped developing around 16, so I speak in a high voice for my age. When I speak quietly, it's fine, but when I have to speak more loudly, the voice is very unpleasant for me and those around me. Since I'm about to do a job that requires a normal voice, I need to sort this out. I visited the ENT and she checked my vocal cords. The doctor said that the vocal cords are completely healthy and I should try different voice exercises. So since then, I try to speak in the lowest possible voice in public and at every opportunity, but no change is manifested. I've also found that I've been developing a second voice for several years now that sounds male to me. But I can't talk to him automatically, and when I try, it gets annoying after a while. What can I do?
mužský | 20
Your vocal cords appear okay, but you face a voice challenge. Voices sometimes change uncomfortably or unusually. The high pitch and second male-like tone could result from vocal habits or muscle tension. A speech therapist specializing in voice disorders can help. They'll give exercises and techniques to find a more natural, comfortable voice.

I am a 24-year-old bachelor student. I have been experiencing a persistent runny nose, frequent sneezing, nasal blockage, and difficulty breathing through both nostrils as one is always blocked alternately. These symptoms worsen when I consume cold drinks or fruits. Additionally, physical exercise and changes in the environment exacerbate my condition. This has been ongoing for the past year, and despite seeking treatment from 2-3 doctors, including homeopathy, I have not found relief. Now, I am exhausted from the ongoing symptoms and would like to identify the root cause and pursue appropriate treatment.

You might have allergic rhinitis, triggered by things like pollen, dust mites, or certain foods. Seeing an allergist can help identify your triggers and recommend treatments such as avoiding allergens, taking medications, or getting allergy shots. Proper treatment is important for feeling better and enjoying life without discomfort.

Fever and cold nose water drop
Female | 20
If you have a fever and you have a cold nose, these are signs of a viral infection. Fever, a runny nose, cough, or fatigue are commonly experienced symptoms. They are also the usual way your body reacts to fighting off an illness. To allow you to relax there is enough support at home. The rest is taking care of yourself, keeping you hydrated and you might need fever and congestion relief over-the-counter medications. Many cases are resolved on their own; however, if your symptoms are not gone in several days or they are getting worse, then the best thing to do is to consult a doctor who will be able to give you proper advice. Your health is of primary importance, thus you should be quick to obtain help.

I am a 39 year old man. I have a increased gland beneath my left ear which is not painful but causes some pressing sensation in the inside of my mouth. My ultrasound detected a few enlarged and few subcentimeter cervical lymphnodes.
Male | 39
It sounds like you may be experiencing swelling in your salivary gland and some enlarged lymph nodes in your neck. These could be due to various reasons, including infection or inflammation. It's important to consult an ENT specialist for a thorough evaluation and appropriate management.

I was suffering from viral fever in the last week. On 30th December 2024 i felt symptoms of Eustachian tube dysfunction (even have sinus issues) and yesterday for the first time i had a pain in the mastoid bone of my ear, it's swollen and red too and the pain in spread out in my half face (upper jaw teeth pain), neck pain and all... In the past i had issues related to TMJ where while chewing my jaw used to get locked and have suffered serious neck ache like the one I'm having right now in addition to the pain in throat (especially while swallowing).. do i have mastoiditis??
Female | 17
You seem to have a few very worrying symptoms, which are earache and swelling, that are a hint at an ear infection and, in some cases, mastoiditis. Your facial, neck, and throat discomfort may be connected as well. The matter of getting you checked out is to have all aspects of your position estimated. Your history of TMJ and headaches could be the other causes of the discomfort. There are treatments that could work, such as those that lessen the swelling and the pain, and they may produce the result you want. Finally, the accurate examination must be conducted by a physician.

I feel pressure in my throat or like a lump or something stuck it is like someone held my throat and the pressure is worse I feel like it gets worse during night I had neck pain few days ago I don't know if it is due to my posture or something else now not much pain and my saliva is kinda thick I kinda feel anxious when I think about it I lost 1 kg today and also like that throat thing goes upto my head I kinda feel like that
Female | 17
It's understandable to feel concerned about the sensation in your throat and the pressure you're experiencing. These symptoms can arise from anxiety, muscle tension, or postural issues. Thick saliva and neck discomfort may contribute to this sensation as well. Staying hydrated and practicing relaxation techniques could help alleviate discomfort. However, since these symptoms are persistent and impacting your daily life, it’s advisable to consult a physician. They can provide a thorough evaluation and tailored advice, ensuring you're supported and informed.

Hi I have been having mucus in my throat that comes and goes, I get inflammation that comes and goes almost three months, I was given antibiotics they told me it's infection is not going away, what could be the problem please
Male | 32
You may have chronic sinusitis. This condition causes long-term inflammation in the air-filled spaces of your skull known as the sinuses. Symptoms can include mucus drainage down the throat, off-and-on swelling, and a sick feeling. If it isn’t caused by bacteria, antibiotics might not work. To find the best way to take care of your symptoms, you should see an ENT specialist.

Acid reflux or stress can also cause this sensation. To help relieve it, try drinking plenty of water, eating slowly, and not rushing your bites. Managing stress can also help reduce this feeling. Following these tips may provide some relief.

I'm facing ear blocking issue can u please suggest cure
Female | 25
You feel like your ear is blocked, perhaps from wax buildup. It also occurs with sinus infections or altitude shifts during travel. Try ear drops first to loosen the wax, and tilt your head to drain it. If the blockage persists, see a doctor for an exam. Earwax often causes this issue, but sinus problems and altitude changes can too. Over-the-counter ear drops may clear wax buildup. Gently tilt your head after using drops, allowing drainage. However, if discomfort continues, visit an ENT specialist.

Yesterday, my dad started experiencing symptoms, and today, my mom, my sister, and I are all experiencing symptoms as well. My main symptom is sore throat and difficulty swallowing. As a tourist, our options are limited. I have started taking OTC Humex Rhume to help with symptoms.

Some symptoms that come along with having a cold include a sore throat and trouble swallowing. Taking over-the-counter Humex Rhume can relieve these symptoms. I was using airdopes from past one year .I m facing problem now . Sometime i found difficulty in talking my voice doesn't clear
Female | 19
Your vocal cords seem irritated, resulting in hoarseness. Prolonged airdope usage could be the culprit. To recover, rest your voice completely. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid whispering or raising your voice. If it persists, take a break from airdopes, letting your vocal cords heal. Consult an ENT doctor if the issue continues.

I am having a lot of pain in my ear
Male | 24
Ear discomfort can arise from several sources, such as infections, allergies, or even changes in pressure. You might experience aching, a feeling of fullness, or trouble hearing. To help manage your symptoms, try resting, using a warm compress, or taking over-the-counter pain relievers. Staying hydrated and avoiding irritants like smoke can also be beneficial. However, persistent or severe pain warrants professional attention. I recommend scheduling an appointment with a ENT specialist to determine the exact cause and receive appropriate treatment.

First of all, I woke up with a weird feeling in my mouth. My saliva was extremely dry…I had to try take water but then I realized something shocking. It was initially tough to swallow my saliva like I had a sore throat but that wasn’t it. I felt my uvula come towards my tongue when I tried to gag. I checked the mirror and saw that my uvula got very long just overnight
Male | 24
Uvulitis is when your uvula swells up. The uvula hangs at the back of your throat. Infections, allergies, or snoring while asleep can cause it. You might feel something in your throat. Swallowing may be difficult, and your throat might hurt. Drinking lots of water helps. Gargling warm saltwater soothes. If symptoms don't go away, see an ENT specialist.

Female | 38
There must be concern about the lumps on your tonsil. They might mean an infection, for example, tonsillitis, which will make the throat swell and hurt. Additional signs could be trouble swallowing, fever, and halitosis. Whatever the lumps are, see an ENT specialist to get them treated.

I have pain while swallowing
Female | 25
This could happen because of a sore throat or infection. Other possibilities are acid reflux or swallowing something sharp accidentally. If it continues for several days, getting it checked is wise. Warm drinks or soft foods might provide relief. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water is crucial too. Take a break from spicy or rough textures until it passes.

Female | 15
If you have yellow mucus for more than 7 days and it doesn't get better with medication, it's likely a sinus infection. You might feel lousy, with headaches or facial pressure too. To help clear it up, try using a humidifier, drink plenty of water, and use a saline nasal spray. But if it persists or worsens, see an ENT specialist.
