I am having throat infection with submandibular, salivary gland and ear infection. Its not going away even after i take medications
Male | 54
Throat infections can lead to interconnected issues such as discomfort in the salivary glands and ears. Common symptoms include pain, swelling, or difficulty swallowing. If your current treatment isn’t helping, it may be due to antibiotic resistance, viral causes, or other underlying issues. It's essential to stay hydrated and rest. Continued symptoms warrant a consultation with a ENT specialist, as they may suggest further testing or a different treatment approach. \

Your stuffy nose and lump point to an infection. Viruses, and bacteria, get in your nose, leading to these symptoms. Pain or swelling could accompany it too. Stay hydrated, get some rest, and use saline spray - this might help clear things up. But if it sticks around, you may need to talk to an ENT specialist.

Sore throat, cough not coming, runny nose, tronsil swelling
Male | 26
These symptoms could be due to a viral infection like a cold or the flu. Sometimes, even allergies can cause similar issues. It's common for a cough to lag behind other symptoms, so don't worry too much about that just yet. Make sure to stay hydrated, get plenty of rest, and try using a humidifier to ease your throat. If things don't improve or if you develop a fever, it's a good idea to check in with a physician just to be safe.

Is this enlarged turbinate and if so what caused it and could it go away on its own? I can’t breathe through my nose for the past two days only. Was completely normal prior to that and I was able to breathe through my nose with my mouth completely closed. Plz help
Female | 25
It sounds like you may be experiencing nasal congestion, which can occur due to factors like allergies, a respiratory infection, or environmental irritants. Swelling in the nasal passages can temporarily hinder airflow, making breathing through your nose difficult. In many cases, this condition improves on its own within a few days as inflammation subsides. To alleviate symptoms, consider using saline nasal sprays or a humidifier. Drinking plenty of fluids can also help. However, if symptoms persist or worsen, I recommend consulting a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation and personalized treatment.

i have a ear ache on my right ear after lying on my right side for too long with headphones.
Female | 13
Having headphones on while lying on your side for long periods can cause pain in your ear. This happens due to pressure and friction in the ear canal. To ease earache symptoms, take breaks from wearing headphones frequently. Apply a warm compress to the affected ear. Avoid sleeping on that side until the pain goes away. If discomfort continues, it is advisable to consult an ENT specialist.

I am experiencing symptoms including a runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sudden sneezing, and occasional breathing problems. These issues began around 2009, when I was in matric, and persist today, August 23, 2024. I have tried various anti-allergy medications such as Baydal, Fexet D, Telfast D, and Mytika over the years, but they only provide temporary relief. This week (August 20, 2024), I used Fexet D, Azomax for 3 days, and steamed with Vicks for 3 days. Despite these efforts, the sneezing and nasal congestion (alternating between the left and right side) remain unchanged. In the morning and at night, I sometimes notice a white fluid dripping from my head to my nose, and it occasionally affects my chest, throat, and eyes. Between 2018 and 2020, I visited the NIH Allergy Centre, where I was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. But i think due to long travelling these vaccine are expire 16 Hrs travelling.and It also does not Effects me.Due to the COVID-19 Travelling and distance, I was unable to travel from Rajanpur to Islamabad and I stoped this vaccine each week In 2020 . and I believe my vaccine may have expired. However, the (antibiotics+Antiallergic) medicine treatment did not provide long relief. which could be contributing to the ongoing issues. Currently, I have been experiencing these symptoms for the past 12 days, following a gap of 3 months. I am currently jobless and living in a flood-affected area, which makes long travel difficult. In these 2 weeks i used 3 days azomax 250, For 3 days fexet D+ leflox, And 6 days softin Tablet. It appears you are going through allergic rhinitis, which is responsible for your runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sneezing, and breathing difficulties. These symptoms have been persisting for a long time despite trying different medications. The allergy shots that you are receiving may have expired, thus not giving you enough relief. Seek consultation from an allergist to review your treatment plan and consider updating your allergy shots to manage your symptoms effectively.

I am suffering from Allergic Rhinitis for more than a week. This happened many times before. The condition is very uncomfortable. Medicines do not produce immediate effects. I do saline wash and take vaour once in the evening. Is it not possible to get it cured permanently?
Male | 70
Sneezing, stuffy or runny nose, and itchiness are the common symptoms of it. Often Allergic Rhinitis is produced by allergens like pollen, dust mites, or pet hair getting inside your body and irritating your immune system. Unfortunately, the permanent cure does not exist, but managing symptoms with a saline wash, antihistamines, and avoiding triggers may make it more manageable.

I m suffering from runny block nose frequently only if I take some medicine it relief temporarily. Pls suggest
Male | 35
This could be due to a few things. Allergies, a sinus infection, or even non-allergic rhinitis could be possible culprits. Taking temporary relief medications suggests it might be related to allergies or inflammation. It's good that you're finding some relief, but it's important to get to the root of the issue. I recommend scheduling a visit with a physician who can assess your symptoms and possibly recommend long-term solutions like allergy testing or prescription medications. It's always best to address these things properly to ensure you're feeling your best.

I took my eyes off the road was fiddling with the car radio, my head was turned towards the right and I crash the passenger side of my car into a telephone pole and all the airbags deployed. I didn’t get any facial or body injuries. I got diagnosed with bilateral tinnitus from an ENT doctor but they didn’t find any damage when they did a physical examination. I did a hearing test and I have a little bit of hearing loss. Based on my hearing test is my tinnitus permanent or temporary?

Tinnitus either lasts temporarily or permanently, based on what causes it. With your hearing loss, your tinnitus could become long-term. It's crucial to continue seeing your ENT doctor. They'll evaluate further and monitor your condition properly.

I'm 24 years old person I'm facing a throat issue I can't drink water, side of my throat I'm threatening more pain I can't eat too
Male | 24
Based on your description, it appears that you are experiencing a lot of pain, making it hard to swallow liquids and solid foods. The possible causes could be an infection, inflammation, or allergies. Keeping water intake might be difficult, so have warm broths or herbal teas instead of water. Pain relievers bought over the counter can alleviate the pain to some extent. Still, these are just temporary remedies. It is my firm belief that you should obtain accurate and professional help from healthcare practitioners to diagnose the source and give you the preferred therapeutic regimen. The most important thing for you is to be healthy, and therefore, a clinician, knowing your specific case, is in a position to offer the most suitable professional support and attention.

My ear it looks like water is inside over 1 year
Male | 51
What you're experiencing could be due to a condition called otitis externa, commonly known as swimmer's ear. This happens when water gets trapped in the ear canal, leading to irritation and sometimes infection. To help you out, I'd recommend avoiding putting any objects in your ear and trying to tilt your head to allow the water to drain out naturally. It's also a good idea to see an ENT specialist who can assess your ear and recommend appropriate treatment, such as ear drops or antibiotics if needed.

Suppose one has a sound playing inside their ear for two years, that might be tinnitus. Tinnitus is a condition where you hear ringing or buzzing or any other sound in your ear that is not caused by any external noise source. It could result from exposure to loud noise, and ear infections among other causes such as stress. A visit to an ENT specialist is necessary to find the cause and consequently receive appropriate treatment.

I woke up this morning with a swollen nose on one side of my nose, I think it might be an allergic reaction, because I inhaled food that someone was cooking it was very strong and I started sneezing and bringing out mucus and woke up to a painful swollen nose
Female | 22
It appears that a congestion in the nose is the result of the body's backlash to an allergen you are coming into contact with. When the powerful aroma reached your lungs, your body probably sneezed and let out mucus. Causing the nose to be inflamed, most likely on one side only. A saline spray can relieve the swelling and alleviate the pain. Take care to avoid the foods that cause your symptoms.

Female | 13
You may have tonsillitis. It can be felt in your tongue, ear, and throat. The pain may be so severe when swallowing that it feels as though your ear is being struck. Feeling sick in the evenings is not uncommon either. A virus or bacteria can cause the condition. Drinking lots of water, getting plenty of rest, and consuming soft foods can be helpful. For further treatment, a visit to an ENT specialist may be necessary.

I have excess ear wax which has hardened like stone.
Female | 27
Built-up ear plug can create an issue of a feeling of being uncomfortable, a reduction in one’s hearing ability, or the illusion of fullness in the ear. Mainly, it is the misuse of cleaning methods and anatomy of the jeopardized narrow ear canals. The other reason might be a skin disorder. To dissolve the wax that has become firm, try mineral oil- or saline solution-based, over-the-counter drops. To prevent earwax from being pushed deeper inside, do not use cotton swabs. If the healing process at home is ineffective or you are in pain when doing it, it is recommended to see a doctor.

I have a sore throat and difficulty swallowing
Male | 24
The common cold, flu, or an infection could be responsible for these. Resting, drinking plenty of fluids such as warm teas or soups, and gargling with warm salt water are the best things to do. Eating soft foods and avoiding spicy or acidic foods can also help. If it's getting worse or not getting better after a few days, it's important to let your body rest and recover.
