Who are the best doctors in India for Neck and Waist Pain treatment?

Hello Mohammad, Below we have listed a few treatments that will help to reduce your neck and waist pain:

  1. Cortisone injections:  These may be injected into the epidural space, around the spinal cord. Cortisone is an anti-inflammatory drug. It helps reduce inflammation around the nerve roots. Injections may also be used to numb areas thought to be causing the pain.
  2. Botox:  Botox (botulism toxin), according to some early studies, is thought to reduce pain by paralyzing sprained muscles in spasm. These injections are effective for about 3 to 4 months.
  3. Traction: Pulleys and weights are used to stretch the back. This may result in a herniated disk moving back into position. It can also relieve pain, but only while traction is applied.
  4. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): CBT can help manage chronic back pain by encouraging new ways of thinking. It may include relaxation techniques and ways of maintaining a positive attitude. Studies have found that patients with CBT tend to become more active and do exercise, resulting in a lower risk of back pain recurrence.

But before undergoing any treatment we suggest you visit your nearest Neurologist and get the complete detail, you can find them through our page - Neurologist in India. Hope this answer helps you.

Hello Abhay, As details given by you, it's been a year since your relative had an accident wherein he suffered from injury to his brain. It is definitely a serious injury which has lead to total paralysis and loss of speech over time. Recovery of the patient depends on his age, associated comorbidities (illness), and on the gravity of the injury. You need to consult a neurologist at a higher centre. He may need a team of doctors to evaluate this case. So please consult a neurologist first and then decide on treatment. Hi, my MRI report says" Central and bilateral paracentral disc herniation at L5-S1 level causing thecal compression and right traversing nerve root impingement. The right paracentral component of the herniated L5-S1 disc is extruded". I feel pain in my buttocks and calf muscle on the right side. Is it possible to get cured by non-surgical treatment?

Hello, You are having nerve root impingement which is responsible for your pain. Analgesics will give some relief for some time. Non-surgical treatment will not be of much help in the long run. Hello, I am from Guwahati (Assam) and my age is 50 years. For the last 12-13 years, I am having a problem with writing. During writing, my hand tremors a lot and therefore I have very bad and illegible handwriting. Since the time when I started experiencing this problem I have been visiting several neurologists in Guwahati but till today I am still experiencing the same problem. I have been told by my Doctors' that it is a case of weakness in my Finger nerves. Kindly advise me what I should do to overcome my problem or suggest to whom can I be consulted for my problem?

Hello, As per medical history given by you, we understand that you have shown to many doctors but with no help. You can still consider a neurologist's opinion. But sometimes these kinds of symptoms can also be stress or anxiety related. So we would suggest you kindly consult a psychiatrist too. He will assess your case and if there is no underlying medical cause he may help you. Moreover, there are many therapists who work on the development of muscle strength. A psychiatrist may be of help since there is a possibility of a lot of stress and anxiety build-up due to long illness. Wish you a speedy recovery. Keeping in mind that you require a holistic approach for this disorder, we are linking following pages for you hoping that it will help - a.) Psychiatrists in India, b.) Best Neurologist in India.

Hi, my name is Sateesh. I am 19 years old studying for Graduation. I work out most of the time. I had pain in the back one morning near the left side of the neck. Numbness all over the body, weakness in hands and legs, coldness under the foot, etc. We went to the hospital to consult a Neurosurgeon. He took an MRI test and said this condition is cervical transverse myelitis. Doctors have given steroids and antibiotics for a week. Now my legs are fine but hands are not working properly, tightness of abdominal, shaking of hands, muscle weakness, my hand fingers are not working properly. Please guide me on what treatment should I take up?

Hello, Transverse myelitis is an inflammation on both sides of one section of the spinal cord (in your case it is cervical). This neurological disorder damages the insulating material of the nerve fibres which results in interruption of the nerve conduction system. Usually, recovery begins from two to twelve weeks of the first onset of symptoms and may continue up to two years. In case, if there is no improvement in symptoms within several months then the recovery is difficult. About one-third of these patients show partial or full recovery. However, take a second opinion from a neurologist. Don't lose hope. Regular treatment will be of help. Hope our answer helps you. You can refer our page to find neurologists who can give additional information and second opinions - Best Neurologist in India.
