Hi, my mother has been diagnosed with Stage IV Metastasis cancer. She can survive for a 1-year max as said by the doctor. Currently she is undergoing 10 dosage of radiation therapy of which 8 has been completed. Doctor consult us next treatment will be chemotherapy & if it doesn't work then they will suggest for immunotherapy. Please let me know on below queries- 1) Can Immunotherapy be taken as 1st level of treatment post-radiation? 2) Which is the hospital that gives the best immunotherapy treatment in India? 3) How many cycles & which will be the immunotherapy drug according to stage IV & how much approx cost per dose?
Hello, For recovery from any type of cancer the overall condition of the patient, his/her age, type of cancer, stage of cancer and associated comorbidities are all that matter. As such, stage 4 means the cancer is metastasized which means poor prognosis. But she has been treated meticulously. Immunotherapy has promising results and only a few types are FDA approved. Some immune checkpoint inhibitors are approved for specific cancer but some are used to treat tumors anywhere in the body mainly by concentrating on a specific genetic change. Pembrolizumab has been approved by the FDA to treat metastatic tumors or tumors that cannot be treated with surgery. As you have not mentioned about the site of cancer it is a little difficult to brief you about the drugs which will be used in your mother's case. Kindly consult an oncologist for the choice of drug for immunotherapy and also after clinically assessing the case he will be in a better position to opine on the number of cycles that the therapy will require. Immunotherapy is considered post other therapies but it is your doctor's decision. Also, the approx cost of one session ranges from Rs. 1, 00, 000 to Rs. 1, 30, 000, further depending on the weight the cost may increase. One session of immunotherapy lasts for 21 days. We wish your mother a speedy recovery. Hope our answer helps you. We have prepared the following listicle to help you out - Immunotherapy hospitals in India. Hi, my relative has ovarian cancer that has spread to the stomach. May we know treatment options?
Hello, The treatment for ovarian cancer may consist of different modalities like surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormone therapy, or targeted therapy. Normally, combination therapy is used depending upon the stage of cancer. The first step in treating most stages of ovarian cancer is surgery to remove and stage cancer. Debulking is also done accordingly. When the tumor spreads to abdomen, chemo and targeted drug therapy may be considered. Once this is done blood tests, checking for the CA-125 tumor marker are advised to analyze the outcome of treatment how well the treatment is working. A CT scan, PET-CT scan, or MRI might also be done if needed, for same you can refer our list - PET Scan in Mumbai. Further, we are also attaching a page where you can find doctors for ovarian cancer - Ovarian Cancer doctors in Mumbai. Let us know if your city is different. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello Tanisha, As per our understanding, your grandfather is suffering from advanced lung cancer. Immunotherapy is considered nowadays. Hello, I have a few questions as follows: 1. Which is the best treatment for Lymphoma cancer with stage 2? 2. Can Immunotherapy alone can cure my cancer completely? 3. What will be the side effects of Immunotherapy? 4. How do the blood tests help in monitoring the cancer progress? 5. Which treatment has a speedy recovery while comparing immunotherapy Vs chemotherapy or radiotherapy?
As per my understanding you want to know about the best therapy for lymphoma stage 2. Treatment and Prognosis of a cancer depends on many factors, which include the type of cancer, its stage and the age and general condition of the individual. The treatment for stage 2 lymphoma depends on the type of lymphoma, medical history of patient, and others. Line of treatment is mainly chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and stem cell therapy. Any modality of treatment depends upon the condition of patient, his age, type and stage of cancer. Treatment is stage wise. Immunotherapy is newer treatment and side effects may be mild to severe like skin reactions, flu-like symptoms, body ache, diarrhea, headaches etc. Regarding blood test ,most of the investigations are on similar pattern which are use to diagnose the disease with few variations. But choice of treatment depends on the clinician's decision and as per the response of patient. Consult an oncologist - Best Oncologist In India. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello doctor, just 2 weeks ago, my father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. I want to know if Immunotherapy can treat his Pancreatic Cancer or not? I had read somewhere that immunotherapy is capable of treating anyone without much pain and side effects.
There are immunotherapy drug which have been approved by FDA for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. But sometimes immunotherapy may cause side effects like Fever, Headache, Nausea, Fatigue, Muscle and joint aches, Redness, itching or sores where the needle was inserted and others. Consult Cancer Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or any other city of your choice, they will evaluate the patient and advise the best suitable treatment.

Hi, I have been suffering from Chronic Asthma. Please let me know if Immunotherapy works against Asthma or not.
Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) is and used to treat allergic asthma. Currently, the only form of SLIT approved by the FDA are tablets. Other drugs are still under trial. Follow the approved available treatment. Life style changes, yoga, right eating, and regular follow up with doctor will be helpful. Consult General Physicians in Mumbai, or one in any other city which you like.

My friend is going through cancer treatment. But the thing is, although her side-effects are decreasing there is no sign of cancer going away. Can you tell me if immunotherapy can help her? She is battling Prostate cancer and it's been 3 months now since she was diagnosed.
I think you have mistaken with the name of the cancer. A female does not have a prostate, so no prostate cancer. Consult the treating oncologists, who will guide you and help you choose the best treatment available. Hope our answer helps you.

Hi, I have a doubt, is there any specific reason for which immunotherapy is not recommended in the early stages of any cancer?
Chemotherapy works by stopping or blocking cancer cells from growing and immunotherapy works by boosting up a patient's immune system to find and then attack cancer. Though immunotherapy is gaining popularity but still it is in growing stage.
Chemotherapies have been key to cancer treatment from a very long time with all established and compiled data regarding the effects and side effects thus making doctors more confident about it in comparison to immunotherapy which is still newer. But gradually it is proving itself in some cancers as preferred line of treatment. Consult an oncologist for clear understanding.
Hope our answer helps you.

- Lung Cancer Treatment options for 3A type includes:
- Chemotherapy to shrink the tumor followed by surgery
- Radiation to shrink the tumor before surgery
- Surgery followed by chemotherapy to prevent reoccurrence
- Surgery followed by radiation to prevent reoccurrence
- Chemotherapy, radiation, or both when surgery is not possible
- Targeted Therapy
- Immunotherapy
- Lung Cancer Treatment options for 3B type includes:
- Chemotherapy
- Radiation therapy

- Chemotherapy and radiation in combination
Surgery is not often an option given in the 3B type cancer, because of the extent of tumor growth and additional organs involved. Hope this answer has solved your query. You can find hospitals for this treatment, on our page - Lung Cancer Treatment Hospitals in India.

Hello, which is the best treatment for lung cancer for a female of 58 years. Size 5cm-8cm in right lung. Please guide us with further treatment.
Hello, The treatments available for lung cancer are:
- Surgery: The surgeon removes the affected part or sometimes a lobe or entire lung depending on all the parameters of the patient. Types of surgeries are-
Wedge resection, Segmental resection, Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy.
Doctors may also remove lymph nodes from chest to check for cancer. The doctor may suggest chemotherapy or radiation therapy before surgery in order to shrink the tumor if it is large. Also, the same may be done in the case of recurrence if suspected. - Radiation therapy: It is also recommended in whom surgery is not recommended as the first line of treatment.
- Chemotherapy: Chemo along with adjuvant treatment to surgery also is given to relieve pain and other symptoms in advanced cancer.
- Radiosurgery: Radiosurgery can be advised for people with small lung cancers who can't undergo surgery. It may be given in metastasis of cancer.
- Targeted drug therapy: It is also one of the treatments available but usually used in advance cancer.
- Immunotherapy: This is a newer treatment used in cancer treatments. But we would advise you must consult an oncologist for the exact line of treatment you require for best results. Hope our answer helps you.
