What is the procedure for removal of tattoo?

Patient's Query

Hello, I want to know the complete procedure of tattoo removal and cost too. Tattoo was made 5 years ago. Please guide.

Answered by Samruddhi Bhartiya

In our knowledge, there are 4 treatments to help with the aforesaid issue; laser removal, surgical removal, dermabrasion, and creams.
Local anesthesia is used in laser treatment which is spread over 6 to 8 sessions, sometimes more. The pigment colors of tattoos are broken with high intensity light beam.
In surgical removal or excision tattoo removal, your tattooed skin would be cut and replaced with the bare skin tissues from other organs. It's effective as well as less expensive.
Dermabrasion involves removing layers of your skin to allow ink to leach out. Efficacy varies, in some cases you are able to get rid of most of the tattoo using this method.
Creams can lighten the tattoo at the best but their efficacy is debated however.
There's a risk of scarring in all treatments above except that of creams, and therefore it's advised that post these treatments you avoid tight clothes, exposure to sun, and picking on scabs. The cost varies from 1500-6000 INR per session. We have an updated list of Dermatologists in India, you can refer and connect with experts to get more information

I got hurt from a plastic chair and a small piece of my skin came off near my foot..It started bleeding but i didn't notice ..when i saw the wound the blood was already dried up so i cleaned it with water and didn't apply anything on it.. It's been 5 days since the injury and the wound is not healing..i applied some antiseptic cream on it later..it just hurts around that area and some kind of transparent liquid comes out occasionally.. what to do

Male | 19

The transparent liquid you see coming out is likely pus, a sign of infection. Try cleaning the wound daily with mild soap and warm water, then apply an antibiotic ointment. Keep it covered with a bandage to protect it. If it doesn't improve in a couple of days or if you notice increasing redness, swelling, or warmth around the wound, it's best to seek medical help.

how are doing my name is nene an from Rwanda i want to ask about skincare because my face looks like 30 years old but I am 20 years?

Female | 20

There are many reasons why your skin may appear older than you’d like. Some of the most common include excessive sun exposure, smoking, and dehydration. Additionally, stress and genetics can also contribute to this issue. To improve the condition of your skin, it is advisable to apply sunscreen every day, drink plenty of water, eat a balanced diet, and quit smoking. Using mild cleansers along with moisturizers can help maintain a healthy complexion.

Itching only on left side particular side only

Female | 34

When the itching is only on one side of your body, it might mean that something is irritant your skin. Occasionally, allergies or dermatitis that is caused by eczema can be the reasons for that. Moreover, nerve disorders or infections may be the causes. Look if you have any rashes or skin discoloration. Try to refrain from scratching as it may cause an infection. The application of a light moisturizer or a calm cream can give some relief.
