How long can you go without blood pressure medication

Answered by Dr. velpula sai sirish

You should never stop blood pressure medication abruptly without medical supervision, as withdrawal can quickly lead to serious health risks like rebound high blood pressure, heart attack, or stroke even within hours to several days depending on the medication type. Missing a single dose occasionally may not cause harm for most people, but frequent missed doses or stopping medication suddenly can significantly increase your risk of severe complications

Questions & Answers on "Heart" (208)

What would it take for me to be able to have a lead pellet removed from the lymph node so rounding the main aorta of your heart. With MRI results show ing to be a sixteenth of an inch from said aorta. The incident had happened in the summer of 1998. I'll be 40 in a couple of months. I'm sick of being afraid to breathe.

Male | 39

I know you are worried about the lead pellet that is close to your aorta. In such situations, only a specialist can determine the best course of action. The closeness to such a life-saving place is really indeed severe. Chest pain, breathing problems, or exhaustion are some of the symptoms to look for. Seeking medical help right away is vital for a proper assessment and the recommendation of treatment options.

Please seek a detailed opinion of a cardiologist with your echo report and discuss your critical concern of LV inflow doppler relaxation pattern. It may be typo error, but you still have to be sure about it and seeking your doctor's professional help will be a good idea.

Female | 20

Experiencing a fast heart rate during sleep or in response to noise can be due to various factors. It might be linked to anxiety, stress, caffeine intake, or other underlying medical conditions. Consult a professional who can assess your specific situation, conduct necessary tests, and provide guidance or treatment as needed to address the issue.

A few days ago my friend had an open heart surgery, but after a month or two he was called to the hospital again, and was put to sleep on a ventilator and the doctor said that the blood has clotted and compacted, He is put to sleep so that his brain does not suffer any damage. Can she get well and go back home?

Female | 28

I'm sorry to hear about your friend's condition. It sounds like there have been complications after the open-heart surgery, leading to blood clots. These clots can be serious, and the doctors are taking precautions to prevent brain damage. It's important to consult with the cardiologist who performed the surgery and the critical care specialist managing the case to understand the prognosis and next steps. They will be able to give you the best advice regarding her recovery and when she might be able to go home.

I am 62 year old. I have been taking medicine for last 4-5 year. Heart pumping was set at 42% from last 3 year , but I had got heat attack 2 times and now pumping work at 30% and No blockage, now what should I will do ?

Male | 62

You should consult a cardiologist as soon as possible to determine how well your heart functions. A drop from 42% pumping to the level of 30% is considerable, and it may call for a modification in medication or other therapy. Heart health must be taken care of by the specialist to avoid further heart attacks.
