Could I have contracted herpes from a recent rave?
I am a 25 years old female. I suddenly work up and had herpes and this is the first time, I have never had it or known anyone that has. I haven't kissed anyone in 6 months or more. The last places I was at was work which was a rave last Thursday and on Sunday it was a bit calm. Is it possible I got it from the rave cause I can't understand how I have this rash on my lip and my lips are swollen. I am currently taking Aciclovir tablets and using the cream as well.

Herpes on the lips are called cold sores. They're caused by the herpes simplex virus. This virus spreads through close contact or shared objects like cups and straws. Getting it from the rave is unlikely since the virus doesn't live long outside the body. Taking Aciclovir tablets and using the cream is a great approach! These medications help make the outbreak less severe and shorter. Don't touch or pick at the sores to prevent spreading the virus more. Visit a dermatologist or general physician for further consultation.
