Why Do I Have Persistent Chest Black Patches?

Patient's Query

I have black patches on chest and its been years and not going i have nothing pain or something else its just like tattoo

Answered by Dr. Anju Methil

The patches on the chest could be due to a few different things, such as a skin condition like dermatitis or a fungal infection like tinea versicolor. Sometimes, changes in skin color can also be related to hormonal imbalances or even just a buildup of pigment in the skin. I recommend you see a dermatologist for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. They can suggest the best course of action, which may include topical treatments or lifestyle adjustments.

Ring worm infection all over the body.

Male | 15

Ringworm isn't from worms, it's a funky fungus skin infection. Scattered red, scaly, itchy patches appear on your body. See a dermatologist for antifungal cream or pill treatment. Keep skin clean, and dry to prevent spreading. Don't share personal items - that's how it travels.

My son is 4.5 years and is having skin rashes since 1 year, in his knee, back, lower stomach and underarms. We have consulted skin specialist and applied futibact, tacroz and neoaporin ointments, but once we stop futibact the rashes return after a week and increase

Male | 4

The boy seems to have atopic dermatitis also called as atopic eczema. The care is utmost important in his case as the skin is dry and prone to rashes as well as infection. steps should be taken to keep his skin moist at all times. Start by oiling him before bath, use mild cleansers, and apply moisturizers immediately after bath so as to retain water and seal it inside his skin. The flutibact is for immediate reduction of rashes. Start using tacrolimus cream once a week to prevent further rashes. The flutibact is a steroid and antibiotic combination cream, and therefore has to be used judiciously. Please meet a pediatric dermatologist for more information regarding this problem
