Why is my hair itching and falling out?

Patient's Query

I have a itching on my Hairs and they are falling. I don't know what to do now?

Answered by Dr. Anju Methil

Hair itching and falling out could be due to a few things. One common cause is a condition called seborrheic dermatitis, which can make your scalp itchy and lead to hair loss. It could also be related to stress or certain dietary deficiencies. The first step would be to see a dermatologist for a proper evaluation. In the meantime, try using a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and avoid scratching your scalp. Keeping your stress levels in check and eating a balanced diet can also help.

Little white spots can appear on the skin, mainly on the arms and legs, due to fewer pigment cells caused by aging and sun exposure. There's no treatment, but you can prevent it from worsening by using sunscreen and avoiding too much sun.

I experience cold symptoms whenever I step outside, possibly due to dust. I also feel cold even when I am in an air-conditioned environment. Additionally, while preparing food, I start sneezing due to the smell of the ingredients. I am not sure why this problem occurs, and I am seeking advice on what I should do to address this issue.

Female | 25

You may be suffering from allergies, which can cause sneezing and chills despite warm weather. Allergens such as dust and strong odors, possibly from food, could trigger these symptoms. To manage this, avoid exposure to dust and pungent smells. Wearing a mask and keeping your living areas spotless can help. Over-the-counter antihistamines may offer relief. However, allergies are a complex condition, so it's important to steer clear of irritants.

You are experiencing seborrheic dermatitis. The condition can be whiteheads, itching, and the loss of eyebrow hair that can particularly be felt on the skin. Skin can develop open pores. It is a result of an overgrowth of yeast on the skin. With the assistance of mild cleansers that don't have any scent at all and dandruff shampoos, they can get rid of the issues of the poor comfort that they have with treatment.
