Why is my swollen, red, yellowish finger so painful?

Patient's Query

My finger is paining so bad it's Swollen and became red and yellowish

Answered by Dr. Anju Methil

The symptoms you’re experiencing suggest inflammation, possibly due to an injury, infection, or a condition like arthritis. Swelling and discoloration are common responses as your body tries to heal. It's essential to keep the finger elevated and apply ice to reduce swelling. Over-the-counter pain relievers can also help manage discomfort. However, if the condition worsens, or if you notice additional symptoms like fever or persistent pain, it’s important to seek medical attention. A dermatologist can provide the appropriate diagnosis and treatment to ensure a complete recovery.

I am 24 years old girl . I have low vitamin d3 when I get it checked in February and from that time I m taking supplements . All other things are normal .But after 5 month itself my hair fall does not stop at all.I m suffering from high hairfall .

Female | 24

Sometimes not having enough vitamin D3 can cause people to lose their hair. You should keep taking the vitamin D supplement as the doctor told you. You should try to eat more foods that have iron and protein in them as well. One thing that might help is finding ways to relax when you are stressed.

I have black neck from a very long time I really want a cure for it

Male | 16

Acanthosis Nigricans is what you are suffering from, a skin condition that causes your neck to darken compared to the rest of your body. This may occur if you are obese or have diabetes. It is important to work on reducing your weight and controlling your blood sugar levels. A balanced diet, regular exercise, and maintaining the cleanliness of your skin can gradually improve this problem.

From last month I'm suffering with full hair fall the hair is falling from the tip and hair fall is very high

Female | 21

It seems as if you may be suffering from severe hair loss. It may as well have been caused by many factors like stress, hormonal changes or a disease. I would suggest visiting a dermatologist, who could examine your scalp and diagnose the reason for hair loss. They can then develop a customized treatment plan for you

I am arpita im 17 years old my skin suffering from dullness nd even skin tone nd not even glow nd hydration

Female | 17

It seems like your skin is not glowing and lacks moisture. These issues may be due to other reasons such as lack of proper hydration, non-use of sunscreen, or dry location. One of the best things to do in this respect is to ensure that your skin takes in enough water, use a good moisturizer that is not too harsh, and eat a healthy diet by including fruits and vegetables. Use sunblock when outdoors to keep your skin protected from the sun. These actions may improve your skin and consequently, you may have radiant skin.

I'm saw a very tiny sore on my penis, and I made enquiries it and I took doxycycline for 14 days as prescribed but the sore hasn't healed I'm worried

Male | 30

Sometimes, sores on the genitals can be due to infections like herpes or syphilis, which may require different treatments. I'd recommend seeing a sexologist again for a follow-up. They might need to do some tests to determine the exact cause and provide appropriate treatment. It's essential to take care of your sexual health, so don't hesitate to seek further guidance.

I applied hair removal spray on my chest and legs. Now I am feeling itchy and red rashes have appeared on my legs.

Male | 24

Itchy and red rashes are some of the common signs of sensitivity when your skin's non-acceptance is projected. This might be due to the presence of certain chemicals in the spray to which your skin is sensitive. Perhaps, you should try a gentle body lotion to reduce the itching and rashes.
