What are the treatment options and their costs for Gallbladder Cancer treatment in India?
Hello Mehedi! If it is what your doctor has said, then you should continue with your mother's chemotherapy till she comes to India. Judging from what you have written and the line of treatment adopted, I assume that the gall bladder cancer is unresectable. So in this case Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy or both can be used.
Factors effecting the cost -
In case of Chemotherapy, you might already know that Chemotherapy cost depends on the drugs and the number of cycles the drug is administered. In case of Radiation Therapy the cost depends on the number of sittings. Overall, both these treatments will be comparatively at a lesser price in a Government Hospital but with the issue of being in a waiting list for treatment.
Approximate cost -
The costs are as follows:
- Chemotherapy - Government Hospital - 200 USD to 500 USD ( 14,300 INR to 35600 INR. Private Hospital - 1200 USD - 1500 USD ( 85,300 INR - 107,000 INR )
- Radiation Therapy - Government Hospital - 3000 USD to 4000 USD (214,000 INR to 285,000 INR). Private Hospital - 4,000 USD to 5,000 USD (285,000 INR to 357,000 INR)

Does jaundice and liver enlargement indicate liver cancer? Where can I get affordable treatment in India for the same?
Hello Akash! Liver enlargement is usually associated with the contraction of jaundice. On the other hand, liver cancer can also be a reason for the swelling up of the liver. Given the dearth of money, you should take your relative to a Government or a Charitable Hospital to meet a Hepatologist. He will conduct tests and confirm whether your relative has cancer or not. The only issue with Government/ Charitable Hospitals is that you will have to wait a considerable amount of time till your turn for treatment comes. And I am positive that the liver enlargement would just be because of jaundice and not cancer. Hope my answer helps you! You can refer this page - Hepatologist in Delhi, let us know if your location is different.
