Why Do I Experience Sharp Lower Abdominal Pains?

35 Female with lower abdominal pains below the belly button, bilateral(on both the left and right sides) unilateral in nature(where one sided pain occurs). Sharp and pinpoint to same location for both left and right sides, directly across from each other. happening since October 2021, coincided with period first occurrence on right side 2021 thought it was a cyst at first. Went away until the second occurrence on June 19th, 2022(period cycle then was June 8th - 16th), right side. Went away and returned September 25th, 2022 on left side this time(period cycle for September 2022 was the 3rd through 11th), it occurred again in January 7th 2023 on the right side(period cycle for January 2023 a skipped period) at this point I still thought it was was cyst like pain or even ovulation pain bothering me,so I went to gynecologist, they thought it could be large intestine related due to the location of the pains. I got an ultrasound that came back normal in February of 2023. The same day i had the ultrasound, I went to medexpress to get my physical for my driver's permit, and they suggested asking my previous pcp for a ct scan, to check my appendix. It was hard to get into my previous pcp as I didn't see them in 3 years so I wasn't established. I reached out to the gynecologist I saw in january of 2023, in June 2023 when I had another occurrence of the pain, to see about getting a ct scan. It was approved by insurance, but ultimately denied under physician review( by the supervising gynecologist, and my previous pcp, because my ultrasound was normal). I then established care in December of 2023, with a new pcpx who is suspicious that my pains are coming from ibs mixed with spasms. I am taking dicyclomine 10 mg 4 times a day as needed, but it's not really doing anything when the pains occur. My pcp also changed my dicyclomine to a 45 day supply as I asked in a different question. I also met with a surgeon in March of 2024 due to a large gallstone, as my pcp said they were common in people my age. The surgeon gave a complete different answer than what I have been given before, and he thought my pains could be coming from endometriosis. The surgeon performed my cholecystectomy, on May 29th, and did a general exploration during it, but found no endometriosis. My pcp still suggested getting an evaluation for endometriosis just to know we didn't miss anything, as well as getting evaluated by a gastroenterologist. As my pains have still been continuing. What could these pains be coming from? I feel like I will be tossed back and forth between gynecology and gastroenterology, and I don't want that at all. Some helpful info: My new pcp also diagnosed me with pcos as I fit the criteria for it with my irregular period cycles, despite my bloodwork and ultrasound coming back normal. I also had the cbc; comprehensive metabolic panel; celiac; thyroid; A1C; ESR; and C-Reactive protein all tested in December of 2023 when I met with my new pcp. The only two that came back as abnormal were my ESR at 34 and C-Reactive protein at 29.7

Should I Seek a Second Opinion for Hypertension Treatment?

Hello, please help me. A friend of mine M28, was recently diagnosed with hypertension. He was prescribed Co-tenidone tables 50g/ 12.5 mg for 3 months. However before diagnosis and also after while taking medication he has intense headaches, complained of chest pain and sometimes feeling drowsy or some kind of spinning sensation. He went back to his GP yesterday and he got more of the same medication for 3 months and also some vitamins because he hasn't been eating much. Is this normal? Should he get a second opinion or this is how it ought to be? I thought at more tests would be done and the medication might be changed. Please advise

Could excessive alcohol and Viagra cause erectile dysfunction?

ED (erectile dysfunction) is when it's difficult to get or maintain an erection. Symptoms may include trouble getting or staying hard, or even lower sexual desire. Your use of alcohol, cigarettes, and too many Viagra pills could be causing the issue. It's best to avoid these and focus on healthy habits like exercise, a balanced diet, and enough rest. Allow your body time to recover, and if the problem persists, visit a sexologist for further help.

Why am I getting forehead whitehead pimples at 35?

Those whiteheads on your forehead are probably a type of acne called comedones. The hair follicles become blocked with oil and dead skin cells. Skin conditions can be accompanied by small, white bumps. One way is to use mild face washes with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide which can help remedy the clogged pores.

Is frequent stair climbing safe in early pregnancy?

Climbing stairs during the early stages of your pregnancy is usually safe. No one has shown scientific proof that using stairs can be the cause of miscarriage. At your stage of pregnancy, it is still ok for you to climb stairs as you usually do. Take things easy and pay attention to your body. If you notice any symptoms like bleeding or sharp pain then visit your gynecologist as soon as possible.

Can I Work in Hospital with Electromagnetic Radiation Post-Shunt Placement?

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) can cause headaches and vision problems due to increased pressure around the brain. One common treatment is shunt placement, a tube that drains excess fluid. Working with radiation equipment in a hospital is unlikely to affect your shunt, as shunt valves are not impacted by electromagnetic radiation.

How can I do scapula exercises effectively?

Shoulder blade pain is often not harmless, so it's important to see a doctor if you're experiencing it. Common causes include muscle strain or poor posture. Simple exercises like shoulder shrugs and squeezes can help strengthen the muscles and reduce discomfort. Start slowly and avoid exercises that increase your pain. Is my worsening headache with fever and neck stiffness serious?

Headache with fever, stiff neck, and nausea along with them could be a serious matter. These symptoms, especially the worsening headache, might indicate meningitis, which is a swelling around the brain. In most cases, this is due to infections. Why Do I Experience Sharp Lower Abdominal Pains?

You have been through a lot with your abdominal pains. Therefore, considering the normal ultrasound results and the new suspicion of endometriosis from the surgeon, your pain may be due to endometriosis, the condition wherein tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus that can result in cyclical sharp pelvic pain. It's okay to talk to a gynecologist about more tests and treatments. Besides, you might want to see a gastroenterologist, too, so as to eliminate the probability of any intestinal problems causing the symptoms you are having.

Is white discharge normal post-period?

White discharge may come after your period and is not a cause for concern. In most cases, this is a sign that your body is undergoing a cleaning process and shedding old cells. However, one of the factors that can provoke this is the fluctuation of hormones. Nevertheless, in situations where the discharge is also accompanied by a strong smell, itching, or irritation, the best course of action is to consult a gynecologist for a check-up.

Should I Seek a Second Opinion for Hypertension Treatment?

Your friend is fighting with his hypertension medication and says it is hard for him. The symptoms he is having, for example, strong headaches, chest pain, drowsiness, and spinning sensation, could be the side effects of the medication. These side effects are not common to everyone but can happen. Your friend needs to talk to his doctor about these symptoms. The doctor might think of changing the dose or giving a different medication to check if the side effects will go away. It's always a good idea to be open with a cardiologist about how you're feeling when taking medication.
