I have self started terbinafen 250 mg for the past two days should i continue?

Answered by Dr. Anju Methil

Tinea cruris, also known as jock itch, can be stubborn sometimes. The fungus causing it can develop resistance to certain medications over time, which might be why you haven't seen lasting improvement. It's good that you're being proactive about your care. Taking terbinafine 250mg along with iberconazole ointment could be a good idea to target the fungus from different angles. However, it's essential to consult with your dermatologist before making any changes.

Hello sir /ma'am From the past 3 months i was using elosone ht skin cream over my knee areas, because of the sun exposure my knee became very dark and they were looking very odd. That's why i was using it in my knee areas only, also it was having visible results. 4 5 days back i saw my knees and suddenly i was in shock. My knees are looking very scary. The area where i use to apply the cream the whole area is covered with a dark patch which is 2x darker than before i had. Please help me it is looking very scary and i can't even wear shorts due to this.

The cream you were using might have led to the development of a skin condition known as skin atrophy which causes the skin to become thin and darker. This can occur if certain steroid creams are applied for an extended duration on sensitive areas like the knees. It's vital to discontinue the cream instantly and see a dermatologist for a thorough examination and advice on how to improve the skin condition.

You may have gotten a heat rash on your forehead and back in the heat. This happens when moisture ducts get clogged and sweat gets trapped under your skin, in effect, red bumps are formed. Avoid hot and humid places, stay cool, dress in loose clothes, and use a cold compress. Keep your skin dry and clean.

a girl who is 7 years old I also have skin and viral infection in leg.

Female | 7

A skin infection likely caused by a virus is probably what you have on your leg. These skin infections may appear in the form of redness, swelling, and sometimes, pain. They can get diffused from a person to a person by contact. A gleaming, gentle antiseptic cloth, however, along with some timely rest brings an enhanced quality of life. In addition, you would want to think about not scratching the area as the infection may diffuse. The point to be noted is if the symptoms are remaining or getting worse, it would be better if you consult a doctor.

I am 23 years old and I did a breast surgery on 17th of march 2024 for removal of lump. The wound is yet to heal now. Few days after the surgery i noticed leakages from the stitches so i went back to the doctor then he stitched it again whivh made the healing process very slow. What can I do to heal the opened wound on my right breast? I find it difficult to bathe. I was prescribed ciprotab by the doctor and vitamin c (but I got the coloured ones instead) or should I have been using the white one? I already stopped the ciprotab

Female | 23

To help the wound heal, ensure that you keep it clean and dry, wash the area gently with some mild soap and water then dry. Any rough movements which might disrupt the stitches should be avoided. Consult with Your Doctor on the right type of vitamin C use, usually white because colored ones could have added ingredients. Should there be signs like increased pain, redness, swelling, or pus, then do seek medical Help immediately as this could mean infection.

Feeling itching on Back of my palm and fingers during midnight between 2 to 5am . Unable to sleep because of that .

Male | 43

This may happen due to many reasons, such as dry skin, eczema or allergies and contact dermatitis. Itch sensations may also be heightened at night due to the natural circadian rhythm of the body. It is advised to apply a hypoallergenic moisturizer before going to bed, which can mitigate symptoms of dry skin. It is possible to manage allergic reactions by identifying potential triggers such as certain soaps or fabrics and avoiding them. If chronic or aggravating, it is so recommended to consult a dermatologist for an in-depth evaluation and tailored treatment options targeting the true cause of nighttime scratch.

I have nodule on my upper scrotum

Male | 22

I suggest that you go to a dermatologist to have a thorough examination of your mole. One should make sure that other serious conditions are not the cause, such as skin cancer or infection.
