Normally the fluid drains for 4-5 days after tummy tuck, and then begins to reduce. They are removed 1 to 2 weeks after surgery when the draining fully stops.

In only the following events the fluid doesn't drain:

  • Drains become blocked. This is either due to default issues with the drains, or because there are large seromas in the tube that can be removed.
  • It could also be that there is no fluid left.
  • It is also possible that you have fluid stored in the tissues (edema) rather than the surgical space, and this fluid won't drain from the tubes but will improve with time.

What should you do?

  • See a surgeon who can check your drains and guide on what steps are to be taken next.

For further consultation, get in touch with renowned surgeons from India and Turkey, or contact us if you need guidance on any other matter pertaining to your operation!
