Why do I have itchy patches on multiple body areas?

Patient's Query

I have brown and little red itchy patches on my chest area , abdomen , thighs, lower back and buttocks .

Answered by Dr. Archit Aggarwal

You may be dealing with a condition called eczema or atopic dermatitis. This can cause dry, red, and itchy patches on the skin, especially in those areas you mentioned. It's quite common and can be triggered by factors like stress, allergies, or even changes in weather. Now, to help ease your symptoms, I recommend using a gentle moisturizer regularly, avoiding harsh soaps, and wearing loose, breathable clothing. If the itching persists, it's best to see a dermatologist for a proper evaluation and treatment plan. Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this and find a way to help you feel better soon.

i have hyperhidrosis. please help

Male | 15

Hyperhidrosis is a condition when you perspire a lot more than normal. It can occur on your hands, feet, under your armpits, or even all over your body. It could be the result of overactive sweat glands or triggered by anxiety, heat, or spicy food. Besides that, there are several things you can do to manage it such as antiperspirants, medications, Botox injections, or in severe cases, surgery.

Just wanna know something,my upper lip is tanned whole the lower is pink which looks weird, want to know what to do in this situation!!

Male | 18

A tanned upper lip and pink lower lip might seem perplexing, but it’s pretty common. The simplest explanation would be sun exposure since our upper lips are generally more affected by the sun than our lower ones are. To tan less and protect your lips, you should always apply sunscreen before going out into the sun; if you want extra protection, use SPF lip balm as well. Eventually, the colors will even themselves out.

Hi, i've got a few chickenpox scars on my forehead which i would like to improve. I've heard that since i'm young and can stimulate my collagen production treatsments such as laser and dermapens can improve my scars for a lifetime. Is this true?

Male | 24

Chickenpox causes scars sometimes after healing the skin. Treatments including laser and dermapens help reduce scars. They stimulate collagen production in the skin. New collagen improves scar appearance. Being young assists scar healing through collagen. These treatments may be effective for you due to your age. However, results differ from person to person.

My baby is 1.8yr old girl...she got fine hairs at her private part and underarms and little facial hair also...it's from birth....her dad also got much hairy skin..is it normal about her

Female | 1

It’s normal for your 1.8-year-old daughter to have fine hair in those areas. It could be because her dad is hairy – sometimes it runs in the family. These hairs are not a problem and do not require any treatment. As she gets older these hairs may become thicker, but that is fine too.

I am suffering from a postpartum hair fall issue. What should I do?

Female | 30

Up to 50% of new moms suffer from normal postpartum hair loss due to such hormonal shifts. It typically spikes around 4-5 months and subsides in a period between six to twelve months. Pay attention to general health, softer hair washing and scalp massage. If hair loss is heavy, prolonged, or associated with scalp problems then it’s advised to see a dermatologist. You are not the only one, and your hair will likely be back to normal!

Sir please suggest powerful treatment for scabies..??

Male | 30years

Scabies is caused by tiny mites that burrow into the skin, leading to intense itching and a rash. I recommend using prescription creams like permethrin or oral medication like ivermectin to kill the mites. It's also important to wash bedding, clothing, and towels in hot water to prevent reinfestation.
