Factors Effecting the Cost of the Treatment

  • Stage of Cancer: This factor affects the cost of treatment in a big way. Generally, treatment is decided to depend on the stage. The cost will increase depending upon the complexity of cancer.
  • Treatments that are done: The treatment options taken by the patient and the oncologist will decide the actual cost. Different treatments have different costs. Greater the number of treatments that one undergoes, greater will be the cost.
  • Place of the treatment: The cost of colon cancer therapy varies from one hospital to another, from one city to the other. The city with a high standard of living will naturally be costlier compared to others. And the treatment cost in Private hospitals will be greater than that of the Government Hospital. There are numerous best colon cancer hospitals in India that provide outstanding care and are JCI and NABH accredited.
  • Number of sessions and cycles: The treatments like chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy are given in cycles. The radiation therapy is given in sessions. The cost is estimated per cycles and sessions. So, the greater the number of the session and cycles one goes through the higher will be the colon cancer treatment cost in India.
  • Medicines used in the treatment: When it comes to cancer treatment, the medicines are very costly. So the fact that which medicine is used in colon cancer treatment affects the treatment cost.
  • Equipment used: Equipment used in cancer treatment also directly affects the total cost of the treatment. If one is undergoing robotic or laparoscopic surgery or high dosed chemotherapy with costly medicine or latest technologies the cost will increase.

Colon cancer survival rate in India

In India, you can get the best colon cancer treatment at an affordable rate. But when you are looking for any cancer treatment, the success rate is one of the factors that many people consider. So here we will discuss the survival rate of the colon cancer treatment in India.

StageSurvival Rate
Stage I

95%

Stage II

75%

Stage III

60%

Stage IV

30%

The colon cancer when found early can be treated successfully. That is why the survival rate of stage 1 is high, whereas stage 4 has a low survival rate. In the early diagnosed colon cancer, the complication will be low and hence the success rate is comparatively high. The higher the level, the more issues there are and the lesser the chance of success.

The colon cancer is more seen in people with the age of 50 or above. It doesn’t mean people younger than 50 there is no risk of colon cancer. The chances of colon cancer are high in old people.

Does cancer come back in everyone who is cured after treatment?

Male | 22

When an individual undergoes treatment and the disease fades away, it’s a relief. Nonetheless, there are times when it recurs after going into remission. It is contingent on the kind of malignancy one has as well as the method used for healing it. Signs that can indicate its reoccurrence may be similar to those experienced during the first onset such as unexplained weight loss, fatigue, or formation of new masses. To avoid its resurgence, you need to keep seeing your doctor for regular checkups besides living healthily.

FREE TREATMENT FOR THE CANCER PATIENT

Male | 58

Cancer treatment can be quite expensive, but there are options available for patients who may not be able to afford it. You see, there are various organizations, hospitals, and government programs that offer financial assistance or even free treatment for cancer patients in need. In fact, I recommend reaching out to local cancer centers or nonprofit organizations that specialize in cancer care to inquire about available resources.

Hello Doctor, good evening. I am Lokesh, and I am taking care of my grandmother at home. She has stage 4 cervical cancer, and we are currently focusing on palliative care. Unfortunately, we do not have regular access to a nearby doctor or hospital, so I’m managing everything myself at home. I’m doing my best to support her with love, comfort, and the correct medicines. She has been experiencing: Pain (sometimes mild, sometimes strong) Lack of sleep or restlessness Occasional constipation and vomiting feeling I have some medicines like: Tramadol 50 mg Paracetamol 650 mg Lorazepam 1 mg Pan 40 Ondansetron 4 mg Lactulose syrup Based on her condition, I would like to know: 1. When and how to use Tramadol or Paracetamol for pain. Can they be used together? 2. Is Lorazepam safe to give daily? Should I reduce it slowly if I stop? 3. What are the risks if I stop Tramadol or Lorazepam suddenly? 4. Can I use Ondansetron only when vomiting starts? Or daily? 5. How often should I give Lactulose syrup if there’s no bowel movement? 6. Do you recommend any vitamins or supportive care for comfort or strength? 7. If she is calm and has no symptoms, can I skip some medicines? I want to provide her full comfort, dignity, and peace. Kindly guide me with the best possible medicine routine and precautions I should follow at home.
