Which hospitals and doctors are reputed for the treatment of stage 4 lung cancer in India?
I am writing for my father's treatment. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in April 2018. He had gone through 6 cycles of of Alimta and carboplatin till October and then two cylces of Alimta only till December 2018. Up to October, he was doing great, had no side effects and his tumor size went down. After that he became very fatigued and also his tumor size increased significantly. In January 2019, Doctor put him on Docetaxel and so far he is doing good with no side effect. But, we would like to continue his treatment in your reputed hospital. I have attached his initial PET scan (April 2018) and recent PET scan (January 2019) along with few other CT scan. I appreciate if you could suggest me the doctor for his treatment and help me getting the appointments. Also, it would be very helpful if you can give me idea about the expenses. Since he will be coming from Bangladesh, it will take time to get visa and arrange rest of the stuff. Currently I am in Canada and planning to join him during his initial treatment at your hospital, preferably in March.

Hello, You can bring him to India for treatment given that Bangladesh has a dearth of good hospitals. You can visit any major metropolitan city in India for Lung Cancer treatment. Given it is in Stage 4, only Chemotherapy will be administered. In case of Chemotherapy, the prices depend on the drug prices, the number of cycles the drug is administered and whether you get your father treated in a Government/ Charitable Hospital or a Private Hospital.
The cost of Chemotherapy are as follows:
- Government Hospital: Here they provide affordable/free treatment depending on your economic condition but the waiting period can be long. The approximate cost per cycle is 200 USD - 500 USD (14,300 INR - 35600 INR)
- Private Hospitals: Here the treatment would come at a premium, but you will not have to wait. The approximate cost per cycle is 1200 USD - 1500 USD (85,300 INR - 107,000 INR)
Hope my answer helps you out! You can find hospitals for lung cancer on this page - Lung Cancer Treatment Hospitals in India.

He will have to consult medical oncologist to make a treatment plan. everything will have to be looked into in detail before advising a plan. I suggest you to continue Docetaxel until that time.

Hello, I want to know if breasts are removed in Breast Cancer surgeries, or are there any other methods in which there is no need of removing the whole breasts?
Female | 46
The biology and behavior of breast cancer will be considered for planning the treatment of breast cancer. Treatment options also depends on several factors like the tumor subtype, hormone receptor status, stage of the tumor, patient's age, general health, menopausal status, and preferences. The presence of known mutations in inherited breast cancer genes, such as BRCA1 or BRCA2. There are some general steps commonly preferred for treating early-stage and locally advanced breast cancer. Doctors generally recommend surgery to remove the tumor in breast. Though the goal of surgery is to remove all the cancer which is visible but microscopic cells sometimes remain behind. Therefore another surgery may be required. For cancers which are large or are rapidly growing, the clinician suggest systemic treatment with chemotherapy or hormonal therapy before surgery. This is called neo-adjuvant therapy. This helps in shrinking the tumor which is easy to operate; also breast can be preserved in some cases. After surgery it is important to check for recurrence. Then adjuvant therapy is advised. Adjuvant therapies may include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and/or hormonal therapy When surgery to remove the cancer is not possible, it is called inoperable, and then Chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, and/or hormonal therapy may be given to shrink the cancer. For recurrent cancer, treatment options depend on how the cancer was first treated and the characteristics of the cancer. What will be the line of treatment in your case will depend on your clinical condition. You can take one more opinion to a clear understanding of your concerns. Consult Cancer Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or any other city you find convenient.

One of my relatives is suffering from cancer can chemotherapy completely cure his cancer.
As per my understanding you want to know if chemotherapy can cure cancer completely. Treatment of cancer to a great extent depends on type of cancer, stage of Cancer, location of the cancer, general condition of patient, associated comorbidities and weighing benefits over risk for advising a particular line of treatment. Consult an oncologist, who on evaluation will guide through the necessary treatment. This page might help - 10 Best Oncologist In India.

Hello , my mother 52 y/o was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma . She underwent operation 6 months back for that and received 30 radiation therapies . Due to this , she developed osteradionecrosis . Does ayurveda holds cure to it without surgery ?
Female | 52
Osteoradionecrosis is a serious condition that occurs after radiation therapy, and while Ayurveda offers supportive care to improve overall health, it may not fully cure this condition without surgery. It's essential to consult with a maxillofacial surgeon or an oncologist who can provide the best treatment options based on your mother's specific condition.

Hello, I'm a 22 year old recently visited a breast clinic in Bhopal. It's almost a month now I am having breast pain, swelling, and my left nipple was inverted more than usual. After the ultrasound I was just given a leaflet about fibroadenoma and she didn't explain. My left nipple has become much more inverted and sunken in and it takes a long time to emerge. Is this something that happens with cancer? I've been worried for months now that this could be cancer even though my doctor didn't seem concerned that it was. Because I am quite young and have no such family history of cancer maybe she overlooked the situation.
Swelling or lump in breast, inverted nipple, pain in breast and lumps in axilla should always be checked thoroughly. These are very common signs which can be seen in Fibroadenoma and also early stage breast cancers. Regular Mammography and biopsy is very important to assess the exact nature of disease. So we would suggest you to undergo a biopsy and visit oncologist to know the exact nature of swelling and it's treatment plan.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer four months ago. Doctors initially assumed it was bone cancer, but after the pathology report came, we came to know that it's stage 4 kidney cancer. Some of our known people suggested immunotherapy as chemotherapy doesn't go for kidney cancer. We want an expert opinion on whether this is true and in that case what we should do now.
In case of Cancer involving Kidneys and has spread to other parts of body requires chemotherapy or immunotherapy. The exact plan for treatment can be decided after studying the involvement of disease and its effects on the normal functioning of the body. So if you can share all your reports with oncologist near you. He will be able to guide you towards the exact treatment plan.

Please refer us to a good place to treat him. We are not so strong financially. Is there any way to save him and treat him from Rajkot only?

My father had to go through prostate gland surgery two times. First time in 2016 in Siliguri and 2nd one is from Amri Hospital, Mukundapur, Kolkata in 2021. Both the biopsy reports came negative. But the doctor said it might happen again. My question is if we had to operate another time, would it be cancerous?
Many a time prostate gland increases in size without any cancerous component called as Benign prostate hypertrophy which occurs due to age factor. Every time the surgery is done, some tissue is always sent for histopathological investigation which shows whether the disease is cancerous or not.
After any cancer surgery and chemotherapy sessions it is mandatory to have regular follow up visits with an oncologist to check any signs of disease. There are many side effects of surgery and chemotherapy which also has to be dealt with, that is the reason why even though cancer free but regular follow up is mandatory.

Is cancer treatment in ayurveda? Stage 2,3rd jaws infected
Male | 37
Ayurveda offers supportive care for cancer, including natural remedies to boost immunity and reduce side effects, but it is not a substitute for conventional cancer treatment. For stage 2 or 3 jaw cancer, it is essential to consult an oncologist or a specialized oncologist for appropriate treatment options like surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. Always rely on expert medical advice and treatments.
