Could my knee pain be Jumper's knee from concrete work?

Patient's Query

I have been having pain below my left knee cap where the patella tendon is and I am thinking I have jumper knee. I work on Concrete floor all day. I have been having thing pain for a week now.

Answered by Dr. Deep Chakraborty

You may be dealing with patellar tendonitis - or “jumper’s knee”. This is typically caused by the tendon below your kneecap becoming inflamed due to activities such as standing all day on hard surfaces. Common signs include pain beneath the kneecap that worsens when moving. The upside is that taking some time off, using ice packs, and doing some light stretching exercises can help relieve discomfort. If the pain persists, visit an orthopedist.

I have tfcc injury about a 1 month which medicine is taken to treat this

Male | 23

Seeing an orthopedist and getting a full diagnosis and a treatment plan is the first thing I would advise you to do for the TFCC injury. The specialist would probably issue a script for painkillers, immobilization, and/or physiotherapy and surgery only if the damage is severe.

I have had shoulder blade pain since 2 months. I consulted a orthopaedic. He examined and said I have a herniated disc and prescribed me some pain killers. Those painkillers donot work at all.I consulted other doctor. He too prescribed me pain killers. And told that if the pain doesn't heal they will have to perform a surgery. I want to know if I should consume pain killers or go ahead with the surgery. Or can you suggest me a way to heal the herniated disc.

Female | 18

If painkillers aren't working surgery may be necessary . .Also , physical therapy may help. Herniated discs can be caused by poor posture , obesity, or heavy lifting..... Strengthening core muscles can help prevent future herniation. But to conclude anything between medication or surgery, need to evaluate reports

My whole body is paining and I m not able to get up from bed since yesterday. And I have been having right side upper back pain. I took medication nothing is working what should I do

Female | 24

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. Widespread discomfort and specific pain in your upper right back can stem from various causes, including muscle strain, stress, or inflammation. Since over-the-counter medication hasn’t alleviated your symptoms, it’s important to seek professional evaluation. I recommend resting, applying heat to the affected area, and staying hydrated. If your condition worsens or doesn’t improve, please consult a healthcare provider for a thorough assessment and tailored treatment plan. You're not alone in this, and getting proper medical attention is key to recovery.

Male | 45

For severe back pain over the counter pain medications can provide relief. Consult a orthopedic or physical therapist for exercises and stretches from well known hospitals is advisable. Maintaining good posture and making lifestyle changes, such as weight management, can also be beneficial.

Hi, I'm Tanille Henrico. I had a decompression and fusion back surgery on my lower back 5 years ago. And I'm on Lyrica 75mg twice a day and Neurontin 500mg three times a day. My back is now starting to get more and more painful by the day. And I must drink extra pain medication every day. What must I do? Please whatsapp me back

Female | 44

Looks like you're suffering from a lot of backache. Even though Lyrica and Neurontin kinds of drugs are being taken, back pain may worsen, and this may be a brand new problem or the deterioration of what used to be. You have to meet your doctor for a check-up to diagnose the cause of the recurrent pain. Sometimes, it is necessary to change your meds or use additional treatments to reduce the pain as much as possible.
