Granulomatous cheilitis, otherwise referred to as Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is a rare condition in which lips swell repeatedly. The precise reason is unclear but it appears to be related to immune disparity. It can also present with symptoms such as swelling, facial palsy, and fissured tongue. Treatment may include corticosteroids or immunosuppressant drugs and in some of the most serious cases surgery. It is vital to seek medical advice from a dermatologist or specialist.
