My father age 78 years. His problem is swellowing . Metastatic oesophageal cancer is found in CT scan.we know that he cannot survive the chemotherepy. Small dose radiotherepy is completed but till now problem is as before radiation. Please guide me immunotherepy can be option for us.

Hello Sushil,

For an esophageal cancer, immunotherapy is definitely one of the options for your father.

If he is in the advanced stage he will be given Pembrolizumab, a drug used for this treatment and effective as long as he has had 2 prior treatments, including chemotherapy.

But if you say chemotherapy might be life threatening for him it is better if you visit a medical oncologist to see if this will be the best line of treatment for your father or not. It would be of great help if you can send all the health and test reports till date to give a better informed decision.
